After following the ACOM Needle Stick policy, follow the core site policy below:
- Wash area immediately.
- Student should report to their manager and Employee Health (ext. 5374) during business hours (Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4:30 pm). If after hours, student should report to the Nursing Supervisor (PCS).
- Student will follow the same protocol as employees. The student will receive follow up and any necessary medications from the Employee Health nurse.
- The hospital will cover the costs related to the student's sharps injury and/or exposure, including follow up and any necessary medications.
