After following the ACOM Needle Stick policy, follow the core site policy below:

• Wash area thoroughly with soap and water.
• Notify supervisor to assist with first aid and source patient lab testing.
• Notify Employee Health Nurse/Nursing Supervisor so risk assessment can be performed.
• The house supervisor or student's supervisor will assist with the completion of the Worker's Compensation Accident Investigation Report and Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure packet. 
• All exposures will be evaluated for the need for PEP, and the student will be referred immediately to the Emergency Department for evaluation and initiation of PEP if indicated.
