After following the ACOM Needle Stick policy, follow the core site policy below:
- Weekdays from 7:00 am -- 4:00 pm, immediately report to Employee Health for evaluation and treatment.
- Weekends and after hours, immediately send Dr. O'Mara (334-293-8022) a text letting him know about the incident. Then report to the Jackson Hospital Emergency Department. Do not go through formal registration or check-in. Go directly back to ER.
- Ideally post-exposure prophylaxis and other treatment that may be indicated should be started within an hour of the exposure.
