After following the ACOM Needle Stick policy, follow the core site policy below:
- During business hours (Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am -- 4:30 pm) student will call the Employee Health office at (256) 404-0006. If there is no answer during business hours, call the Employee Health nurse's cell phone at (256) 401-4077.
- After business hours, student should report to the House Supervisor. The best way to reach him/her is to call the hospital operator at (256) 401-4000 and ask them to overhead page the House Supervisor.
- The hospital will incur 100% of the charges for a sharps injury or exposure incident. Student will be contacted by the Employee Health nurse to schedule a 3-month and 1-year follow up.
