The ACOM Summer Research Fellowship allows students to contribute to an existing research project with a faculty principal investigator (PI) while giving them hands-on experience with the research process. Students develop an appreciation for research and its contribution to medicine, apply the scientific method, analyze data, and write up their results.
By the end of the summer, students are able to:
Students should expect to be in the laboratory 30-40 hours per week and attend weekly lab meetings. Students must complete mandatory biosafety and responsible conduct of research training prior to beginning the program.
