OPERATION SAFE ESCORT
Upon request, Security will provide an escort to and from the student housing area located at Summerfield Square, vehicles parked in or adjacent to ACOM's designated parking areas, and other on-campus locations.

SECURITY SPOTLIGHT
Dr. MaryAnn May, Director of Safety & Security, joined the ACOM team in August 2019 and brings with her more than 25 years of safety and security experience. She holds an Associates degree in Fire Science, a Bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health, and a Masters and PhD in Adult Education. Additionally, she is a fire officer and fire inspector and previously certified as a fire fighter, EMT, and playground inspector.
Since joining ACOM, Dr. May has worked in tandem with members of leadership, faculty, and staff to implement numerous life safety programs to ensure ACOM is the safest COM/SOM campus in the US. Prior to joining ACOM, Dr. May served as the Chief Fire Official with the Broward County School System (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and as Fire & Life Safety Specialist at Auburn University.
When she is not home spending time with her family she enjoys traveling to the Happiest Place on Earth -- Disney World! Dr. May is originally from Alex City, AL.
EMERGENCY CALL BOXES
The College has emergency two-way call boxes (Blue Light Phones) around campus buildings and parking areas for use during emergencies. 
By pressing the red button on a station, a blue strobe light is activated and the user is immediately connected by phone to a Security Services representative.
Each station is monitored by security cameras and video is relayed to the security desk.
